How to setup your SenderID to be in line with ComReg regulations
- Visit the ComReg SMS Sender ID Registry
- Select Sign-up
On the screen above tick I'm applying to be a Sender ID Owner.
- Under Organisation Type, select Company.
- Tick I don't have a CRO Number.
- Fill in your school website address, phone number and email address.
- In Trademark Numbers type in numbers '0000' (4 zeros)
- You will be required to provide documenation, WE HAVE PROVIDED A LETTER that you can download HERE. This letter will be accepted by ComReg. It does not need to be amended in any way.
Next enter the school address details and the registered contact details. The email address provided here will be contacted by ComReg to confirm the registration.
You can tick Use the same as Registered Address for the Business Address section.
Click Next.
- A Sender ID must be of alphanumeric format having a minimum of 3 characters and a maximum of 11 characters. Space, hyphen and comma are also permitted characters. More information is available on the ComReg Q&A page.
- Note: Sender names are approved on a first-come, first-served basis. If your preferred name (e.g. “St Mary’s”) is taken, try variations or something unique to your school. If all else fails you can put VS at the start of the ID.
Next click Assign 3rd Party.
Search for VS School and tick Allowed before saving.
You should now see VS School listed below your sender ID. Click Next.
On the next screen you need to search for and tick both Vodafone and Phonovation.
Once both are done, click Next.
This is the final submission screen, simply tick the Terms and Conditions box and the I'm not a robot box, complete the reCAPTCHA and Submit.
Once you have pressed Submit, you must wait for a confirmation email from ComReg. Approval is manual so we cannot say exactly how long it will take.
Step 2 - Fill in the form linked below to allow us to update your Sender ID in VSware.
Once you have received your confirmation, fill in the details on the form linked HERE and we will update it in VSware.
