How to view active and inactive users of VSware. (Read time: 5 minutes).
The User Hub provides schools with the tools to effectively monitor user activity. By tracking login activity, schools can ensure that staff, students, and parents are actively engaging with the platform. This empowers administrators to take proactive steps to encourage usage, enhance communication, and improve overall parent engagement in their child's education.
Accessing the User Activity Report
- Navigate to the Admin tab.
- Click on User Hub.
- The report is split into 'Active Users' and 'Inactive Users'. Each shows users who have either logged into or not logged into VSware via the app or desktop in the specified time period. Only valid users (i.e., those with a username and ‘Access to VSware’ enabled) are included in the User Hub report.
- In the Inactive Users section, you can send an SMS to prompt contacts (i.e. parents) or staff to log into VSware if needed. You cannot send SMS to students.
Filtering the Data
You can refine the displayed data using the following filters:
- Number if days: that the user has been active/inactive.
- Roles: Either contact (parent), student or staff.
- Class: The base class.

Left Early: Filter by students who have left early.

Source: Choose between browser or mobile app logins. Note: VSware began recording the login source in November 2024. Any blank entries before this date are due to the absence of recorded data.

No Username: Only show users that have been given 'Enable Access to VSware but do not have a username.
Sending an SMS
Navigate to the Inactive Users tab and apply the necessary filters to display the relevant list of users. Once you have the desired users visible, check the box next to each user you wish to contact.
Next, select the 'Send SMS' option. Compose your message and then click 'send'.
This feature is particularly valuable for reaching out to users who have been inactive for a specified number of days. By sending a text reminder, you can ensure they receive important updates or messages and encourage them to log into the platform.
