How to reset your password in the web or mobile app
We’ve recently updated our top menu navigation (July/August 2024). We’re currently updating our user guides to reflect these changes, so thank you for your patience while we work on this. The new menu is user-friendly, so you shouldn’t experience significant disruption. If you need help locating specific items in the new menu however, watch our quick videos for admin users here, and for teachers here.
Because VSware does not store mobile numbers for Student profiles, it is not possible to send students a temporary password via SMS.
If you have forgotten your existing password and need to reset it, you must contact your school who will be able to generate a temporary password for you. They can also give you your username if you don't have it.
Once they have given you your temporary password, you can reset to a new one either via the Web app (on your browser), or via the mobile app. Click here to find out how to download the app.
Resetting your password via the mobile app
- Open the VSware App and start typing the 'official' name of your school i.e. My School Dublin, then select it from the dropdown list when it appears. Do not type the local or nickname of your school.
- Enter your username and your temporary password.
- You will then be brought to the reset password screen where you can create your own personal password that you will use going forward.
Resetting your password via the Web App (browser)
If you are using a desktop computer or laptop to access the Student App, you will not need to download anything. You can simply log in via your browser.
- First, make sure you are using a modern browser. We recommend that you use Google Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge. We no longer support Internet Explorer or Firefox.
- You will need the school to provide you with your school’s VSware URL. It might look something like myschoolname.vsware.ie. Type this into your browser and hit enter.
- Enter your username and temporary password and hit Login
- You will then be brought to the reset password screen where you can create your own personal password that you will use going forward.
